  • The video of last week’s panel discussion on open access at the Frankfurt Book Fair, which included Communications Coordinator Siân Harris, is now available online.
  • A grant from the VakaYiko project funded a recent two-day workshop in Nigeria to build the capacity of staff in the Health, Solid Waste Management and Sanitation agencies in Lagos to use data in service delivery.
  1. Upcoming events
  • Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, winner of the latest INASP’s Journals Online workshop grant, will hold a workshop entitled ‘Training for Compliance with International Publishing Standards’ from 18-19 October 2015.
  • Sioux Cumming will be travelling to AJOL in Grahamstown, South Africa from 18-22 October in order to participate in the training of interns who will be assessing journals, against the Journal Quality Tiers. This methodology for assessing the quality of journals, will be rolled out across the JOL platforms.
  • Zimbabwe Evidence Informed Policy Network (ZeipNET), in partnership with the US Embassy Public Affairs Section Food for Thought series, will be hosting a knowledge café on Evidence Informed Policy Making: Success, Challenges and Opportunities on 20 October 2015.
