2. Updates

• INASP’s Annual Review for 2014-15 has now been published. Click here to read about some of the ways that INASP is helping make a difference for researchers, libraries, local publishing, policy making and society.
• Our December photo of the month was taken this week at a side event of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP21) in Paris, France, where the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) was speaking about its climate-change roundtables in Kenya funded by a VakaYiko grant.
• The AuthorAID team, associates and embedding partners had a very successful meeting in Colombo, Sri Lanka last week. See the hashtag #AuthorAID2015 for a taste of some of the discussions that went on.
• On 1^st December, Anne Powell and Ruth Bottomley participated in a UKSG webinar on research information in low and middle income countries.
• Clara Richards was in Paris, France last week for a workshop on research communication with researchers from Morocco, Madagascar and Mauritius.
• Emily Hayter was in Kampala, Uganda last week meeting with new VakaYiko partners to select trainers and consultants for work in 2016.

3. Upcoming events

• Sioux Cumming is in El Salvador to conduct the first Journal Online (JOL) workshop in the country. The workshop will be held from 30 November to 2 December 2015. Currently, there are four journals from El Salvador on LAMJOL, but with a total of 25 participants at the workshop, this is likely to increase. The editors will be trained to load their own content. There will also be discussions on improving the quality of their journals.
• Peter Burnett, INASP’s Programme Manager for Library Curricula and Network management, and Annelise Dennis, INASP’s Capacity Development Approaches Coordinator, are in Malawi this week for a pedagogy workshop as part of the three-year Library and Information Science (LIS) pilot project.
• INASP’s Programme Officer for Information Access, Mai Skovgaard is in Tanzania to observe a workshop on Working Together to Support Research.
• Clara Richards and Philip Horgan are in South Africa this week meeting with VakaYiko partners.
• Emily Hayter is going  to the UKCDS Research Capacity Strengthening meeting on 3^rd December and the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association sub-Saharan Africa Coordination meeting on 5^th December.

• Tanzania workshop strengthens national research system by encouraging collaboration – INASP News, 2 December 2015
• On the 3rd and 4th of December, the Sokoine University of Agriculture in Morogoro, Tanzania will host the INASP workshop ‘Working Together to Support Research’ (WTSR). 30 participants will take part; selected for their roles in strengthening the research communication system in Tanzania.
